"The Passionate and Enthusiast English Major ng Curry"

ABOUT ME

As an English teacher, I have always equipped myself with the knowledge and skills necessary for my field. I am dedicated to becoming more competent so that I can make a meaningful contribution to my students’ lives. I am an English enthusiast with dreams not only for myself but also for my students. My goal is to make the English subject more enjoyable than they ever imagined.

TEACHING STYLES

As an English teacher, I strive to engage my students by incorporating various learning styles to enhance their understanding of the language. English can be a challenging subject, so I created diverse instructional materials that capture their interest. I focused on time-sensitive and community-based activities to make learning the English language simpler and more engaging, helping students fully grasp the lessons.

TEACHING EXPERIENCES

During my internship journey, I experienced many valuable learnings and realizations. It was indeed challenging. I had to create the everyday making lesson plan, prepare instructional materials, and complete various paperwork, all while facing personal battles as I taught my students. It was tough, and I can hardly believe that I made it through. This journey has been an eye-opener, helping me to gradually develop a love for this profession.

Now that I have completed my teaching internship, the word that comes to mind is “success.” I succeeded not because I handled everything on my own, but because of the incredible people I met along the way. My students accepted my younger self, offered compliments, and supported me during every demonstration teaching. My cooperating teacher provided valuable guidance, sharing a wealth of knowledge and skills. The entire ACHS community welcomed my imperfect self, and my peers became my best buddies. Above all, I am grateful to God for providing the grace and strength to finish this journey.

About Us

We are a group of ten student-teacher interns from the College of Development Education - Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CDE-CBSUA). We call our group, Team Isarog, as a symbol of the community we were assigned to; and as a symbol of the tenacity of a mountain that we showcased during our internship journey. For 2 months, from February 5 to April 4, we had the opportunity to complete our internship journey at Altamarino-Clasio High School (ACHS) in Curry, Pili, Camarines Sur.

Through our teaching internship, we had many learning experiences as we engaged in meaningful classroom experiences, crafting lesson plans, delivery of instruction, and making connections with the entire ACHS community, from our peers to the students, cooperating teachers, the school head, and the school's faculty and staff. This e-portfolio highlights our journey as student teachers - showcasing our achievements, outputs, our school, our reflections, and our growth as we prepare to become educators with confidence, competence, commitment, and compassion.
