WOMEN'S
MONTH
Altamarino-Clasio High School (ACHS) proudly celebrated Women’s Month with a special program held at the school pavilion on March 12, 2025. The event, themed "Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas," was led by student interns from the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) in partnership with ACHS teachers and students.
The celebration aimed to honor the vital roles of women across various sectors of society, while also educating students about women's rights and inspiring them through real-life examples of leadership and success. The program was hosted by Jona Mae Asis, who delivered an insightful discussion on the different laws under the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Act. She emphasized the importance of awareness and legal protection for women and girls, making the message both timely and relevant. Asis also highlighted the accomplishments of notable Filipino women, including former Vice President Leni Robredo, who continues to be a symbol of integrity, public service, and women's empowerment.
“This celebration is more than just a program—it’s a call to action to recognize and uplift the contributions of women, especially in building a better future for the country,” said Jona Asis. Mrs. Johanna Doque, a long-time teacher at ACHS, echoed the sentiment: “By showcasing successful women and educating our students on important laws, we are helping shape a more informed, respectful, and inclusive generation.”
The program concluded with a group photo, capturing a day of inspiration, education, and unity. Through this collaborative effort, ACHS and the CBSUA interns successfully created a platform that not only honored women but also empowered students to become advocates for equality and social justice.
